International ocean experts gather on campus

UW oceanographers  and are helping to host a gathering on campus of 170 diatom scientists from the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, U.K., Ireland, Israel, Japan, China and Taiwan. The group will discuss the perils and promise of diatoms – the microscopic algae that live throughout the world’s oceans.

2015 Boren Scholar will study in Brazil

ÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø sophomore Gennevi Fam Lu is one of only 171 students nationwide to be selected as a 2015 . A first-generation Seattle native, Lu hopes to work someday as a regional affairs officer.
