UW oceanographers聽 and are helping to host a gathering on campus of聽170 diatom scientists from the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, U.K., Ireland, Israel, Japan, China and Taiwan. The group will discuss the perils and promise of diatoms – the聽microscopic algae that live throughout the world鈥檚 oceans.
