The UW Department of Architecture was asked to design and build a new facility to serve as a community gathering space on the waterfront at聽Pier 58. The project is set to open in summer of 2015, and will include a performance stage. Read more about it聽.

Several hundred people came out for聽the Alley Lights event that took place on December 6th.聽Visitors strolled through the聽alley聽between NE 45th & NE 41st to see聽glowing art installations and special exhibits, and enjoyed live music and holiday treats along the way.

Sponsored by the U District Partnership and the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development, the event was an opportunity to celebrate the people who make the U District a great place to live and work, including quite聽a few neighborhood locals聽who wanted to show their聽appreciation for the U District.
