Polar Science Weekend coming up

Grab the whole family and head for , March 1 to 4, at Pacific Science Center. Sponsored by UW and the science center, this seventh annual event offers engaging hands-on activities designed by UW scientists to illustrate their research (see ). For adults, a “Portal to Current Research” will feature investigations on the Artic ice melt by Applied Physics Laboratory researchers.

Children’s environmental health

New research on children’s environmental health is the subject of a February 28 at South Campus Center sponsored by the UW Northwest Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit and the Center for Child Environmental Risk Research. Policymakers and the general public are invited. is recommended.
